    Hello my name is Anita Amponsah, but everyone calls me Annie \u2013 the owner of Assurance Home Day Care (AHDC). I am a mother of three and my husband is in the U.S. Navy. I started teaching at the age of 18 in a Sunday school and Perseverance International School in Ghana. Due to my passion for teaching, I attended Presbyterian Women\u2019s Teacher Training College, graduated and I was awarded Teachers\u2019 Certificate \u2018A\u2019 by the University of Education – Cape Coast, Ghana. After my Teacher Training College, I worked in an elementary school for seven years. Thereafter, I furthered my education at Methodist University of Ghana where I majored in Human Resource and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration degree. After the successful graduation, I worked as a High School Administrator for a year and migrated to the United States to join my husband. Still following my passion for children, I worked at Child Time Day Care Center at Huntington Avenue in Alexandria Virginia. Working at the day care center, I completed my Child Development Associate (CDA Credential). In 2013, I opened my own home day care (AHDC) and has been providing the safest, highest quality care to families in Virginia and California. With my extensive experience working with infants and toddlers, I understand the anxiety of being a new parent and having to leave your child in the care of someone else. My goal is to alleviate that stress by providing a home filled with warmth, love, caring, sharing and respect. Assurance Home Day Care \u2013 Tender loving care is our business. AHDC a member of the National Association for Child Care (NAFCC) and National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). I participate in continuous education to keep my credentials and licensing in great standing with state regulatory authorities at all times. I have completed the Teachers\u2019 Aide Program at the Ohio State University.<\/p>\n

    A journey without a destination is devoid of accurate direction and It is meaningless. My ability as an early childhood educator to influence the children under my care positively and have an indelible mark on their lives depends on a set of personal beliefs and values. My personal philosophy is to instill good morals and values in all children, respect all children and their families regardless of their gender, religion, culture, ethnicity, race, beliefs and uniqueness. I treat each child fairly to ensure that all children feel equally special or unique.\u00a0\u00a0I envision to have families, communities, and educators work in unity, remain a long life advocators of children, utilize all resources available for overall good of the children, and to maintain an academically and developmentally conducive environment that enhances the total development or learning process of the children. I am here to take very good care of your child for you. AHDC is home away from home!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
